Poker tournaments on Full Tilt Poker aren’t easy thanks to fields filled with sharks. Many players that used to be fish have studied a lot about the game and are now pretty good. This has created much tougher fields than ever before, so be wary about the higher buy-in tournaments. For example, most of the tournaments that have buy-ins for more than $55 are pretty much reserved for extremely solid players, which are quite difficult to win.

So – be careful about where you decide to start playing. Have a bankroll plan and start at the micro-stakes and work your way up, even if you are an independently wealthy person.

There’s little doubt that players outside of the US that can still access Full Tilt Poker fully wish to participate in the next MiniFTOPS series, whenever it might be. For now, we’re all left to guess when that will occur but we do know that the action will be fast and furious.

There’s nothing more exciting than buying in for a low fee, such as $11, and then turning that into a six-figure payday. The opportunities are endless for small and micro stakes grinders in the world of online poker to be playing in the smallest games one day to being catapulted into the top level of players overnight.

MiniFTOPS at Full Tilt Poker

The MiniFTOPS series does not run continuously on Full Tilt Poker, rather, it tends to occur every three months. This means that the MiniFTOPS series runs about four months out of the year and we’ve historically seen that there is always a two-day event as well as the Main Event of the series. Both of these tournaments typically pay the winner decent six-figure payouts.

The schedule of the MiniFTOPS actually mimics the big-buy-in FTOPS series on Full Tilt, only it makes the buy-ins for the events 10% of what they are in the regular series. This allows all players to join in the fun of big field tournament poker. Typically there are many different types of poker games offered during the 30-40+ events. During the 3-4 week poker tournament affair you’ll find different formats such as rebuys, add-ons, Rush Poker, ante-only and other interesting format tournaments. For those of you that do not have accounts on Full Tilt Poker, you should be aware of recent changes in their policies that do not allow players from the United States to play in their games. Currently, these players are shut out from the site, although many of us remain hopeful that sometime in 2011 or in 2012, legislation will finally be passed allowing legal online poker in the United States.
